Shirley Diaz began her career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs, where she developed a deep understanding of finance and capital markets. She then spent over six years at the law firm Skadden, Arps, focusing on securities enforcement and government investigations. During her time there, she represented clients in complex regulatory matters, SEC investigations, and white collar defense cases, building expertise in high-stakes litigation and enforcement proceedings.
After years of advising corporations and executives, Shirley founded Díaz Vidales PLLC to bring that same level of sophisticated legal counsel to families and entrepreneurs. She saw that individuals building wealth and businesses deserved the kind of strategic, personalized guidance typically reserved for Fortune 500 companies. Today, she helps new parents create comprehensive estate plans and advises business owners through formation, growth, and disputes.
Shirley remains committed to public service through her work on the DC Court of Appeals Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel, where she represents indigent clients in criminal appeals. She also takes on pro bono matters and is deeply involved in bar leadership, currently serving on the Board of Governors of the DC Bar and as Region V Governor for the Hispanic National Bar Association. She is a Past President of the Hispanic Bar Association of DC and serves on the Washington Performing Arts Junior Board.
Outside the office, Shirley lives in Washington, DC with her son, Andrés, and their cat, Saweetie.
